Building Community

Gordon Fee, a New Testament scholar, says this about God's church

"God is building a community of people among whom He lives and who in their life together reflect His character and values to the world."

At Dublin Vineyard that's what we are passionate about.  We want to be a community of people who in our lives together - how we treat one another, care for one another and nudge one another towards maturity as we follow Jesus Christ - live as a reflection of what God intended His church to be.  We value church as a place for friendship and not simply a meeting that takes place on Sundays. At Dublin Vineyard we seek to create an environment where, within the context of relationships, people learn to increasingly love God, love others and live lives that are reaching out to "reflect His character and values to the world".

Building community helps people develop a sense of belonging and purpose. Although community develops through many informal and formal environments, the primary environments for developing community at Dublin Vineyard are through participation in our midweek small groups and in contributing through volunteering.

Small Groups

One of the most significant ways that we build community at Dublin Vineyard is through people getting together regularly in smaller groups during the week.  Small groups are at the heart of building community and developing our spiritual lives. Quite simply, a small group is 8 – 14 people who get together regularly to develop intentional and meaningful relationships with God and each other. These groups are the primary place where we build a sense of belonging and friendship and together, try to live out what it means to be a follower of Jesus in our everyday lives. Small groups also provide an environment of encouragement and support. All are welcomed. Pick up a small group brochure at the information table on Sundays.

Community of Volunteers

Dublin Vineyard is a community of volunteers. When we use our gifts, talents and passions to contribute and serve others, it brings a greater sense of purpose and meaning to our lives and allows us to be a vehicle of amazing blessing to others. There are many ways to use your God-given wiring and talents to serve others at the Vineyard and our city. Anything from serving the people in our communities with simple acts of kindness, to serving some of the most disadvantaged on the streets of Dublin, to mentoring children and teens. There's a place for your unique contribution.

When you step up to serve and volunteer, God can use you in ways you never expected. Volunteering not only honours God and allows great friendships to develop, but also allows God's church to thrive. Why not check out how you can volunteer by checking out the back of the Sunday brochure, talking to your small group facilitator or contacting the church office
