| What to Expect When You Come |
|
Walking into a new church for the first time (walking into any type of meeting for the first time) can be a little scary. You're not sure where to go, what to do or who to talk to. You may want to remain anonymous and just 'check everything out from a distance'. So when you come in someone will welcome you with a 'hi' and give you a bulletin which outlines the format of the service. Before the service starts you can get a cup of coffee, check out our information table, or chat to someone, or just sit down and watch what is going on - whatever you are comfortable with. After the service feel free to 'slip out quietly' or stay for more coffee. The style of our service is informal and contemporary. There’s always a cup of coffee or tea and something nice to eat before our service begins. We start our service with 20 to 25 minutes of worship music led by our worship band. This is a time when we want to worship God and celebrate what he’s done in our lives. This is followed by a 20 to 25 minute talk given by the pastor or a member of our leadership team. The aim of the talk is to apply the truth of the Bible to our lives. We want this to be both meaningful and relevant to our everyday lives. We then set aside the last part of our service for people to receive prayer, if they would like. As a guest you are more than welcome to fully participate or to be a ‘fly on the wall’ – just sit and watch, whatever you feel comfortable with. |
