Frequently Asked Questions

What happens at Growth Groups?

Every group will be slightly different. Some will be more traditional in their approach and will often follow a format of worship, bible study and prayer.  Other groups will meet around an area of interest, e.g., fitness or crafting.   All groups, however, will have included in their programme a focus on getting to know Jesus more and getting to know others more.  Most groups will have an element of worship (not necessarily music) and prayer as well as a focus on learning how to apply the bible to our lives.

What if I show up after the sign-up month and want to join a Growth Group?

Although many of the groups will be closed after the sign-up Month, we plan to leave a couple of groups open for the whole semester.  Please contact the office to check which groups are still open and to make contact with the Growth Group leaders.

Can I sign up for more than one group?

Yes, we will not stop anyone from signing up for more than one Growth Group. However we strongly recommend that you devote yourself fully to one group instead of being partially available for multiple groups.

What if I find a group and a leader that I want to stick with for a while? Do I have to find another group during the sign-up Month?

Absolutely not!  In fact, if you want to stay in the same group for the next semester, you can rush to be the first to get your name down for the start of the next semester.

How does pastoral care work during the sign-up months (“off months”)?

Each Growth Group leader will still remain the point person for pastoral care during the sign-up month after their group ends. When you have found a new group, the new Growth Group leader will be the new point of contact for pastoral care.
